Describe how a variety of stakeholders from within the LEA and the communityat-large participated in the planning process.
Education Coordinator: Mustafa Akcakaya
Assistant Coordinator: Erdem Genc
Technical Supporter: Huseyin Deniz
Community Stakeholders:
Parents
Teachers, co-teachers, paraprofessionals, volunteers, instructional coaches and
department chairs
They all collaborate and work together to make sure all students succeed in their

best interests. Meetings are scheduled weekly basis by either instructional

coaches or the department chairs to discuss the progress of individuals and
groups.

Summarize the relevant research and describe how it supports the plan's
curricular and professional development goals.
Summarize the plans major curricular and professional development outcomes
that are supported by research.
According to findings, the leaders of the community need to be involved for a
productive and efficient plan. It is very important to go over current plan to
evaluate the progress.
Describe and cite the relevant research that supports the plans outcomes.
The research determines specific components as follows: First step is analyzing
the current system and discussing the needs of devices and the programs which
will help to improve the organization. And then the solutions should be searched
by considering funding strategies as the research recommends the 30/70 rule,
which means 30 cents of a dollar is for tools and 70 cents is for training and
support. And these all must be written and documented by specifying a timeline.

Describe the connection between the research and the plans goals.
The research mentions about how a technology plan improves, gives benefits
and enhances the non-profit organizations. And the goals of the plan were set by
considering the findings and the components of the research.
Describe information gathered from site visits, including best practices.
The assistant education coordinator and the technology supporter scheduled
visits to some of the non-profit organizations and education centers to observe
and to get some opinion for the technology plan. They have observed that the
students benefit more and the teachers contribute better when technology is
involved in education. And they also found that a good technology plan makes
things convenient for the staff members, students, parents and the community
members.

CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.

The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools.

What technology is currently available to all teachers?

There are only two computer rooms available to all teachers. There have been
three small-size printers in two different rooms which are only accessible for the
staff members. Six classes have projectors out of twelve classrooms. The
computers are installed Microsoft office programs. All the staff members have
mobile phones. The organization has a good quality camera.

How are hardware and software currently being used in classrooms

at each grade level and in each content area?

All of the hardware and software are available through online. None of them
really needs to be installed. However, they all require to be connected to the
internet. Currently, these programs all are being utilized very competently.
Teachers, students and parents are able to communicate at a very high
interactive level. Teachers can get their preparation ready and make all the
recourses accessible to them. The program in place are content related that
makes students, teachers, and parents enriched.
Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of
digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.

Is technology currently available to all students?

There is not a computer lab that is open to students usages. The students are
not able to use those as instructional tools. There are only three computers which
are located in the game room for fun purposes. Fifty percent of classrooms are in
need of projectors. So that all the projectors are unfortunately not available to all
students at the same time. However, some other students can access those
projectors when they are rotated to projector equipped classrooms.

Do all student groups have equal and appropriate access to the

available technology?

Some students cannot even log in those technologies. The students who have
access to technology facilitated rooms are those who have equal access to them.
Those students also have appropriate access to technology since they are
always under supervision of teachers. Teachers make sure that the students
share the devices when the number of the tools is less than number of students.
The students are well-guided when they are using them in the class.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
How will technology be used to create more powerful learning experiences
to improve student academic achievement?
First of all, the students will be able to improve their computer and other
technology skills to be integrated this ever-changing 21 st century. The students
will be able to save time by manipulating information faster through techno. They
will not only save time, but they also will be able to get deeper information by
using different applications and programs. They will get a faster feedback that will
make them move further quickly. On the other hand, the technology will interest
them to like the educational environment because it already is in their life.
What options exist to fund technology over time?
Currently, fundraising activities and donations barely live up to their need. But,
the administration team members are also looking for some other grants
available to non-profit organizations to offer some more opportunities to the
community.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.

How are students using online communication technologies,

including but not limited to social networking and instant
messaging?

Since they have very limited technology usage, they cannot really take the
benefits of its features. We would like to find funding that will enable us to
facilitate a couple of chrome book class sets, projectors and smart boards for
each classroom. Hence, every student will be able to utilize very interactive

communication technologies such surveys, google docs, spreadsheets, and so

on. They will be able to work and prepare projects together. So that they will
learn some soft skills such as how to communicate others, how to work with
others, team work, etc. which will prepare them for their lives.

How is access to only appropriate educational online resources

accomplished?

First of all, only educational resources will be available on their products. There
will be school wide policy and producers in place that will clearly instruct teachers
and students how to use these tools in the school and after school period. Some
consequences will be presented in the guidelines. At the beginning of semesters,
the teachers and students will be trained to make sure that they understand
these guidelines, consequences, procedures, and policies.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT
The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and

integration skills and needs for professional development.
Do teachers have the classroom management strategies to work with the
amount of technology actually available in the classrooms?
The students are involved in a Discipline Point system (DPS) and Positive
Reinforcement System (PRS) by using the online tool ClassDojo for the
classroom management. Some workshops, seminars and trainings were
provided for the teachers where they were given chances to practice and
experience those methods prior to the educational school year.
What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for
professional development?
First of all, they would like to learn how to use those different products and
programs that needs to be installed, effectively. Secondly, their main concern is
how to make students and parents accountable with the usage of those tools.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment

data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.

What professional development will be provided to ensure teachers and
administrators will be able to effectively accomplish the curricular goals for
students described in section 2?
Professionals will be invited to give some professional development activities to
both administrators and teachers. Then some supportive team members will
follow up with them to keep them to be encouraged and supported.
What professional learning will be available so teachers and administrators
can effectively use technology to assist with student assessment?
All the teachers and staff members will have to attend trainings about the
technology use in the classrooms. The number of the seminars and panels will
be increased. By consulting the experts, effective and useful technology tools will
be introduced to the teachers and the staff members.
INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND
ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,

technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.
Do all staff members have e-mail accounts? Do students have access to email?
All the teachers and staff members have e-mail accounts which they interact with
parents, students, the administrators and each other. All the updates and
notifications are informed via e-mail and the spread sheets, daily and weekly
plans, posts, announcements are submitted via e-mail. Teachers and the
administrators get into touch with their parents via e-mail. The students are able
to have their personal e-mail accounts so that they also will be informed about
the updates, notifications, warnings and some of the information too.
Who provides technical support and what is the response?

The technical supporter of the organization is responsible for all the technical
issues such as computers, printers, projectors and all other technological
devices. If any of them breaks down or needs to be set, he is in charge to fix and
set the devices. And also the technical supporter is the one who gives trainings
about the devices and the tools that are going to be used when needed.
Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and
telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.

Will students and teachers be able to access their work from any
location in the school or from home?

Since the students have their personal accounts on the database of the
organization and Edmodo and ClassDojo, they will be able to access their work
from anywhere they can access to computers with internet or digital devices with
the internet which are uploaded with the tools. And in the organization building,
the students will be able to use the computers in the computer lab when they
need to access their personal accounts to see their work or progress.

How will parents and community members be able to access school

information from home computers?

The organization has its own public website where there are information about
the organization, its mission, the events, activities, field trips, the seminars and
panels, class schedules, lunch menu and all the updates. The parents and
community members are able to access the website where they can access to
the internet. And also the parents have their accounts on the database of the
organization so that they will be informed through e-mails and they can access to
the organization information wherever they are able to access to the internet
through their accounts.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT

The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.

Who will oversee the data collection, analysis, and program

modification process?

The assistant education coordinator and the technical supporter will manage and
run for gathering, obtaining and analyzing the data. They also will go over and
make the necessary modifications on the program with discussions and
suggestions.

Who will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process?

The department chairs will observe and evaluate teachers and students during
the class on scheduled dates. And they will share their observations and
evaluations with the instructional coaches, assistant education coordinator and
the technical supporter based on the rubric they prepared to discuss about the
effectiveness of the program.

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.

How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is

responsible?

When each teacher submits their weekly plan and when the department chairs
share their monthly observations in their weekly meetings, the data will
automatically collected by the technical supporter through the e-mails which are
also seen by the assistant education coordinator. Every month the technical
supporter will summarize the data to the education coordinator and the assistant
education coordinator.
