Steam exhausting from a turbine at 1.0 psia (0.07 bar) has a specific volume of 333.

6 ft/lb
(20.8 m/kg). Water under the same conditions has a specific volume of 0.01614 ft/lb
(0.00101 m/kg). This is the equivalent of one pound of steam contained in a cube having a
length of 83.2 inches (211.1 centimeters) on each side being condensed to a cube having a
length of approximately 3.0 inches (7.6 centimeters) on each side. The void created when a
pound of steam condenses into a pound of water helps maintain the vacuum in the
condenser, in conjunction with the air removal equipment (vacuum pumps or air ejectors),
which removes any air that leaks into the condenser.
