Ms. Lang

Students can expect to explore places such as Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin
America from 44 B.C. to 1700 A.D. We will explore the geography, religions, cultures, social
structures, and political structures of each region. Having an understanding of these areas of
focus will help you understand the world you live in today.

Materials Required for Class

I do not require any additional materials for this class. Please make sure you have all of
the materials listed on your seventh grade syllabus (i.e. 3 ring binder, dividers for
classes, etc.). I will provide materials for projects.
Life Skills

Life skills grades will be determined by points from Classroom Dojo. The following components
make up the entire life skills grade:
1. Behavior Do you have a good attitude? Do you follow directions?
2. Participation- How often do you volunteer to answer? Are you ready to respond when you
are called on?
3. Group work- Do you work well with your peers? Do you allow others to have a turn?
4. Work habits Are you focused while working? Does the teacher have to remind you to get
back to work often?

Homework
For this class you will have homework 2 nights per week. If there are assignments that
you do not complete in class, those automatically become part of your homework
as well. Homework should take no longer than 20 minutes per night. If you are
absent you have a one school day to turn in your homework AND classwork that
you missed. For example if you are in 1st period and you miss school on Monday,
you will receive your homework and classwork on Wednesday so you must turn it
in on Thursday. If you will be absent for a long period of time, please come talk to
me so I can give you a packet of assignments ahead of time and we can set a due
date. If you do not turn in homework by the due date (which will usually be the
next day) you will be required to attend Homework Center after school.
Tutoring

My tutoring day is Tuesday after school. If you have a D or an F, you are required to come. If you
want to come for extra help that day you are more than welcome to join. I will be in my
classroom every day for about 30 minutes after school if you have any questions.
