    CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PRODUCT


    It offers good depth of hardening and good
    machinability as well as in the hardened and
    tempered state. It is suitable for photo engraving
    and polishing.
    PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
    This steel is used in the hardened and tempered
    condition for plastic moulds and for die holders in
    general.
    DELIVERY CONDITION
    Hardened and tempered HB = 275 320. R
    1000 N/mm2.

    HEAT TREATMENT
    Soft annealing: heating to 710 750C, holding
    at temperature, furnace cooling to 600C
    (15C/hour), then cooling in air.
    Stress relieving: after rough-machining, heating
    to 550 600C, holding at temperature, furnace
    cooling to 500C, then cooling in air.
    Hardening: preheating at 600 650C,
    austenitization at 840 870C, oil-quenching.
    Tempering: heating to 550 650C, holding at
    temperature.
