Grading Policy:
Summative Assessments: 71%
(tests, projects, class presentations, major essays, midterms count twice)
Formative Assessments: 29%
(quizzes, oral work, writing tasks, graphic organizers, illustrations, homework/class work for accuracy)
Finals: 20%
Final Average = .80 x ((Summative x .71) + (Formative x .29)) + .20 x (Final Exam)
*Reports cards go home every 9 weeks.

Classroom Rules:

4. Be Responsible! Always take responsibility for your learning and your actions.
*Obey all school rules, including academic honesty (NO PLAGIARISING).
*Failure to abide by rules will result in a teacher conference, parent phone call, detention, or office referral.
*School-wide policies to remember: no cell phones, music players, or video games; tardies taken cumulatively; no leaving the
classroom within the first or last fifteen minutes of each period.
Mastery Policy:
*Attendance and participation in extra help/tutoring are
required to have an opportunity for mastery.
*Mastery must be completed within a 9-week grading
period.

ELAGSE9-10W6: Use technology, including the internet, to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing products.
ELAGSE9-10W7: Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question or solve a problem; narrow
