One of the strategies is to enhance the skill and knowledge of their staff. Researcher is crucial in PMB to drive strategic group research and development projects, Industry researchers emphasize technicality and practicality; on the other hand, academic researchers emphasize novelty without worrying about practicality. The Industrial PhD holder combining ‘academic and industrial research practices will provide significant advantages to Prasarana for long term. Strong relationship created between the staff and university's researcher will enhance research collaboration between Prasarana and local universities. The collaborations will raise the research profile of Prasarana in Public Transportation industry. The proposed PhD project “A Model Simulation Analysis on The Risk Perception Based of The Pedestrian Evacuation Safety Behaviour for Underground Urban Space in Malaysia” is part of the collaboration between Prasarana and USM. This project has been approved by GMD in 2014 and funded by Ministry of Education (MOE) for three years. Full time researchers at group level need deep and broad knowledge of public transportation in both rail and bus technology. 2. Full time researchers at divisions/subsidiaries level need good coordination to minimize unnecessary overlapping research, and provide direction on gaps in targeted research areas. 3. Part time researchers at divisions/subsidiaries level requires more technical support in good research methodology, particular in writing up and documenting the R&D projects. 4. Lack of good group wide document management of research papers and projects. Skills & Knowledge At least 2 years working experience especially in research area and preferred are for those in public. transportation in both rail and bus technology field. ‘Aptitude and inclination to further study to Masters degree in relevant research areas. Advantageous to have Masters degree with emphasis in relevant research areas. Good knowledge on research and development methodology. Excellent communicator/presenter and able to work under pressure and challenging deadlines. Mature, responsible and able to work with minimal supervision.
