represent to enhance the clarity and artistry of
communication

4.1 Experiment with words and word meanings to


produce a variety of effects
4.3 Present ideas and info on a topic, using a preestablished plan
Students will:
Provide examples of a verb
Give examples of multiple words in the verb category
Demonstrate how to use a verb in a proper sentence
Have students write down verbs they learned from the
activity or can think of themselves.
Have students write the definition of a verb in their
own words

Verb activity worksheet


Paper with student names
Whiteboard markers

Class management strategy if needed


Ask students what they think a verb is
Ask students for some examples of verbs and how to
use them in a sentence
Put students into groups by pulling names from a hat
and explain the freeze frame activity.
Once students are in groups of 3 record each groups
verb they are going to act out for the class.
Have each group act out their verb and let other
students guess what the verb is
Once each group has gone and all the freeze frames
have been guessed have the students sit back down
