Biographical Sketch Abstract:
Lorin Franklin Jones was born March 13, 1889 in Payson, Utah to Timothy and Mary Jane Done
Jones. He married Ivie Maude Huish April 9, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He graduated
from BYU in 1920. In 1943, he was called as the president of the Spanish-America LDS
mission, which he did for eleven years. He died September 1, 1975 in Provo, Utah.
Ivie Maude Huish Jones was born March 9, 1891 in Payson, Utah to William and Mary Elizabeth
Fillmore Husish. She married Lorin Franklin Jones April 9, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
She died February 7, 1976 in Provo, Utah.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Lorin Franklin Jones
Lorin Franklin Jones was born March 13, 1889 in Payson, Utah to Timothy and Mary Jane Done
Jones. He married Ivie Maude Huish April 9, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He graduated
from BYU in 1920. He worked for the Extension Service in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 1943, he
was called as the president of the Spanish-America LDS mission, which he did for eleven years.
At the time of his release, he became the first patriarch to Spanish speaking members. He died
September 1, 1975 in Provo, Utah.
Ivie Maude Huish Jones
Ivie Maude Huish Jones was born March 9, 1891 in Payson, Utah to William and Mary Elizabeth
Fillmore Husish. She married Lorin Franklin Jones April 9, 1913 in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
She wrote poems, music, and programs. She also developed the Pronto method for teaching
Spanish to missionaries. She died February 7, 1976 in Provo, Utah.
