The National Institute of the Korean Language


(NIKL) (www.korean.go.kr ) supports Korean
language teachers overseas by providing
publications and professional learning
opportunities. Dr Gu will introduce the newly
updated NIKLs digital resources. She will also
demonstrate examples for the effective use of
those resources in the Australian contexts. (Q&A
with Dr Gu to be carried onto the network dinner)

Korean TeachMeet

Teachers will share good practice, practical


innovations and personal insights in Korean
language teaching (preferably with technology).
All participants are encouraged to be ready to
volunteer an idea, tool or website that they have
delivered in their classroom. This session is
designed to be carried onto the network dinner
(as an informal professional talk).

Integrating language and culture in


a Korean language classroom

There is a fundamental relationship between


language and culture. Dr Kim will discuss the
effective teaching method for integrating
language and culture in a Korean language
classroom. She will also demonstrate Korean
teaching strategies through culture learning with
her show-and-tell examples. (Q&A with Dr Kim to
be carried onto the network dinner)
