EDU7101-8: Foundations for Doctoral Study in Education

What I knew about the course prior to taking it:

This was the initial class for the Doctoral program and I assumed it would be
a weeding out course or see if the student is organized and dedicated. I also
assumed it would test our research, writing and comprehension skill level.
What I learned from the course:
This course was as I thought it would be, a weeding out class. There were ten
assignments in eight weeks. I learned how to navigate the new learning
management system associated with Northcentral University. I learned that
there was little to improve upon when it came to my time management
skills. In contrast, I reassessed my overall life and career goals.
How I plan to use this course to excel in my profession:
This course enforced and encouraged me to say NO when asked to assist
or take on a project. I will encourage my students to prioritize and keep on
task. I will also share the concept of saying NO with them and that no one
judges them for using the word.
I will maintain the use of my daily lists and continue using my Erin Condren
Life Planner. Even though many say a digital planner is better, I need (yes
NEED) to see and feel the planner!
