The epidemiological triad is basically the traditional concept of disease, based on three components: an

external agent, a susceptible host, and an environment that brings the host and agent together, so that disease
occurs.
An example of this can be seen in Tuberculosis, or TB. The agent is the TB bacterium; host factors include nonimmune, weakened resistance, poor nutrition; and environmental factors include crowded conditions, poor
ventilation, and bad sanitation.
