Are We Really Equal?
Although many strongly believe that all humans are equal because of the abolishment
of segregation, in reality, all humans are not equal because people are still treated with
hate and are discriminated which is making the world a bad place.
In the world we live in today, people get treated badly. Everyday, someone gets
discriminated on either their race, gender, and/or sexual preferences. It seems like a while ago,
but slavery occurred not to long ago. African Americans were born enslaved and were treated
badly. Those enslaved African Americans were not treated equally. Once, brought out of
slavery, the African American people were still treated badly. It was segregation before Martin
Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks finally did something about it. People are dropped everyday
because they are not like everyone else. I strongly believe that not everyone is equal. If everyone
was equal and treated equal, wed all be treated the same and had the same things. The world
has become a bad place considering how we treat one another. We act as if we are all better than
the next, when we are not. We should be all equal, but with all the hate that is not possible. This
hate, discriminate behavior, and violence against another human being proves that we dont
consider ourselves as equal. People dont consider one they hate to be on the same level as
them. The inequality is unacceptable because not everyone has the same opportunities as the
next to become their equal. We the people, is saying were all one. No one takes it seriously
based on how they treat others. All of the racism and hate is the main reason for people of lesser
privilege to be treated as equal to one with higher privilege. If someone were to be purple I
believe they should still be treated equal like as to that of a caucasian. So, no, even though the
abolishment of segregation occurred, we still dont treat each other as equals.
