‘There isa requirement of the Zoo Operator to:
1. make provision for the isolation and treatment of sick animals;
2. have sumples tested for transmissible spongioform encephalitdes when deaths occur
‘in imported animals; and
3. dispose of dead 200 animals either by incineration or deep burial
‘As Shia was born in New Zealand, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAP)
Biosecurity New Zealand has not requested an autopsy or any samples tobe tested, and does
not old a copy of any pos mortem work undertaken by Zion Wildlife Gardens,
MAF Biosecurity New Zealand can advise thatthe tiger Abu was buried within the grounds
of Zion Wildlife Gardens
