FACTS & FIGURES
Thailand is a country in south east Asia, popular as a tourist
resort both within the continent itself and throughout the world.
The people of Thailand tend to be warm and friendly, openly
welcoming you with a smile to their beautiful country, renowned
also for its lush scenery and exotic tropical climate.
The pace of life in Thailand is vibrant, everybody seems to be
busy with something or another, from fisherman to rice farmers,
bars and restaurants crowded with tourists, luxury hotels, taxi
and “tuk tuk” drivers, market vendors and so forth.
However, it is important to note that this busy
population is a happy population, tending to be free of
the stresses that so often dominate our lives in Europe.
Thailand's King and Queen are popular figures, with
the 80 year-old king recently celebrating 60 years
on the throne, this makes him the longest ruling
Monarch in the world.
Whilst the king and queen wield a good deal of power
in Thailand, they are progressive and encourage a
permissive society friendly to foreign tourists and
residents alike.
