In the beginning the story when Monstressor found Fortunato

drunk at the carnival and he wanted to take him back to his

estate. Because [there] were no attendants cause Monstressor
told them to celebrate. But Monstressor did end up taking
Fortunato back to his estate. This as well was part of his detailed
plan to kill Fortunato as revenge. So he decided to make the
attendants leave he could kill him.
Monstressor felt as if he had to kill Fortunato. So in[the]
evening during the madness of the carnival Monstressor met uo
with Fortunato when he was drunk. Monstressor began to chat
with him. As an all together Monstressor took all those steps to
lead up to killing Fortunato.
Also to lure Fortunato in Monstressor had to pretend to
be his friend. But at the time Monstressor had just arrived at the
carnival. When he arrived he realized [the] condition of his friend
was very unsteady. So he approached Fortunato to feel like his
friend so he could kill him.
But when they were introducing the appearance of
Fortunato. The story was also was giving the location of
monstressor at the time. So Monstressor went to see him, and
since he was acting nice out loud by saying nice things to him like
Fortunato is luckily met. This is evidence that, Monstressor is
pretending to be his friend. But this was also around the
beginning of the story where he still has time to pretend and lure
him in and kill him.
