Anticipatory
Set

Introduce skeleton (Bob)


Ask the students:
-What is Bob?
-Why do you think I brought him with me today?
- Do you have anything in common with Bob?

Objective

Students will be able to identify the skeletal system as a part of the human
body.

Procedure

Review what a KWL chart is


Complete the K part of the KWL chart. Have students write their own
answers on the chart.
Read A Book About Your Skeleton by Ruth Belov Gross using interrupted
reading strategies.
Elicit student response
Discuss what the students learned from the book
Have students return to their seats
Hand out Bare Bones worksheet
Students complete worksheet independently or with a partner
Walk around to ensure students understand the content and dont have any
questions

Closure

Students will complete an exit ticket, writing or drawing one piece of


information they learned about the skeletal system
Share student responses
