Demographics Data Progression

On the following pages, you will find the demographics and testing data of my school,
Brookside Elementary K-8, and Lincoln Unified School District. Brookside is the only
non Title 1 school in the entire district. The demographic make up of my Classroom is:

34.5% Asian, 7% Filipino, 10% Black or African American, 17% White, 28% Hispanic,
3% Pacific Islander

I have a population of 22% English Learners and 76% English Only as compared to my
school which has 15.2% EL and 84.8% EO.

Compared to the district, I have more than triple the Asian population, double the
Filipino, about equal African American, a little more than half the White and Hispanic
population, and double the Pacific Islander.

Following the demographics data is the geometry progression of our district adopted
Engage New York curriculum. I have found that what I have taught thus far has been
successful and accessible to my diverse population. The modeling and conceptual
development is superb. There are ample opportunities embedded for discussion and
hands on activities, which has increased student success as evident in student work and
assessment.

Geometry Progression:
The following progression is for Geometry in grades Kindergarten through 8 th Grade
Algebra. Some grade levels have only a few lessons while others have an entire module.
Included below are the links to the integral lessons for certain grade levels, and the entire
modules for other levels. The progression follows the common core standards.

Here is also a link to a website with some K-5 games to aid in building a conceptual
understanding of geometry.
