IRELAND!
I have ancestors from Poland, Scotland,
Czechoslovakia (the Slovakian side), and
Ireland.
I am very interested in Ireland and chose to
give information about it.
I have information from the Irish population to
the Irish life.
POPULATION OF IRELAND
The current population of Ireland is 4,722,028
people.
Which is ranked 119 in biggest population of
countries in the world.
RELIGION
The majority of the Irish population are Roman
Catholic.
Roman Catholicism is a monotheistic religion in which members
believe that Jesus was the son of God and that he was sent
to provide salvation for all mankind. They believe in an
afterlife called heaven. Their holy book is the bible.
LANGUAGES
IRISH HOLIDAYS
The most popular of Irish holidays is Saint
Patricks Day.
It is celebrated on March, 17. It is the Catholic
feast day of Saint Patrick. It is celebrated to
commemorate Saint Patrick, a patron saint of
Ireland, the arrival of Christianity to Ireland,
and Irish pride.
2 lb Unpeeled potatoes
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 Stick butter
3 T Flour
1 1/2 T Chopped parsley
1 1/2 T Chopped chives
1 1/2 T Chopped lemon thyme
Creamy milk
Salt
Freshly ground pepper
Seasoned flour
Bacon fat or butter for frying
Boil the potatoes in their skins, pull off the skins and mash straight away. Add
the egg, butter, flour and herbs (if using) and mix well. Season with plenty
of salt and pepper, adding a few drops of creamy milk if the mixture is too
stiff. Shape into a 1" round and then cut into eight pieces. Dip in seasoned
flour. Fry in bacon fat or melted butter on a gentle heat.
Cook the bread until crusty and golden on one side, then flip over and cook on
the other side (about 4-5 minutes on each side).
Serve on its own on plates with a blob of butter melting on top.
IRISH ENTERTAINMENT
In Ireland most people live normal lives like
many Americans do. They watch television,
they use the internet, play music, listen to
music, hang out with friends, visit friends
and family, and play sports like Soccer and
Rugby.
