Things you should know about my country
Project description:
The students of all participant schools present things and facts that all should know about their own country or
region on a common Website
This will be a cross-curricular project, many subjects can be included (Geography, History, Music, Art,
Economics, Sports, English....), so this is fine for projects with several participants of the same high school
Any way of presentation is allowed and should be found by the students (Video, photos, art, podcast...). This
project wants to be also a contribution to the idea of Inclusion/inclusive education because every participant
contributes in his own way, depending on their level of competence

Pupils age: 12- 16
Tools to be used: Chat, email, forum, Other software (Powerpoint, video, pictures and drawings), Project
Diary, Twinspace, Video conference, Virtual learning environment (communities, virtual classes, ...), Web
publishing, google drive...
Aims
Students should get competences in
- Researching about their own country in different subjects (Famous/special landscapes,
famous music, historical persons,...)
- Finding ways to present their results/ideas to other students in other countries in an
understandable and attractive way, using English as foreign language and different ICT-tools
- Using and working with different ICT-tools like video, potcasting, audio, photo editing,
photostory, (...) and building and creating a Wiki
- Communicating with others by twinspace-tools (chat, mail...) and for example skype, using
their knowledges in foreign languages
- Giving feedback to the contributions of their partners, working further with results of their
partners they found on the common Website: google drive quiz, chat, etc.
Work Process
This project consisted of five tasks. Under each task a number of activities are proposed.
Participants may choose to do all or some of the activities and all may be integrated to regular
classes.

- discussion about the contents and goals of the project between participant teachers
- using the inputs of students...(september/beginning of october)
- registration of the project (october)
- first steps in twinspace and project diary (registration of teachers, students, first selfpresentations,..)
- october - creation of the first version of a website (Weebly) and learning how to handle it
(teachers and students, upload of things...)
