Taking apart a computer and

putting it back together.

In the image on the bottom left of the screen all
that remains in the computer are the cables and
connection ports, to put this computer back
together firstly what you have to do is insert the
mother board into the case, the you have to
screw all the screws into the case, the you
insert the components which connect to the
mother board e.g. ram graphics card, processor.
Then you insert the power supply and the hard
drive and optical drive,
After this all you need to do is connect all the cables
and connection ports to the correct sockets and
plug the power cable into the wall and boot up the
computer if a error message pops up then check all
the computer connections.

Fixing a fault
In the image on the left there are 2 fault with the machine which stops
it from booting up correctly, I identified what the 2 fault were which the
4-pin connector on the computer was not plugged in, also the sata
connection to the hard drive was not plugged in which stops the
computer reading the information off the hard drive to boot up the
computer. All I did to fix the fault was plug in the connection ports into
the computer.

COMPUTER UPGRADE
In the image on the left the computer needs 2 upgrades to speed up
the computer in general and to make it be able to connect to the
internet wirelessly, to do this all I did was insert more ram to increase
the speed of the computer, to get internet access wireless connection
to the internet I installed a wireless network card into the computer.

Testing

What I did to
test.

What should
happen.

Problem

Upgrade
components

I inserted a wireless
network card into
the motherboard to
give the computer a
wireless connection,
also I inserted some
more ram into the
motherboard which
made the speed of
the computer faster

The PC should be
able to connect to
the internet
wirelessly and the
computer would run
faster due to more
ram being installed.

The computer could

not connect to the
internet and was
running slowly.

Fixing
computer

I inserted a sata
cable into the hard
drive and I also
plugged a 4-pin
connector into the
motherboard.

The computer
should boot up
correctly and the
computer should
boot up properly.

Since hard drive is

not plugged in the
computer will not
boot up and since
the 4-pin is not
plugged in the
motherboard it does
not give the
processor full power

Computer
works ?

After I put the

computer back
together I tested to
see if it works

The computer
should boot up
correctly and should
be in its original
state.

The computer was

funny taken apart
and was not
working.
