Intro
Creation. The action or process of bringing something into

existence or the creating of the universe, especially when

regarded as an act of God.
Passion is a beautiful thing. To have a deep passion for something
can only be felt, in my attempt to investigate a passion of mine I
hope you can feel that same passion I do.

Personally, to define creation is like asking an art student to throw

a piece of string on the floor and to tell us what they see. Who
knows the outcome besides you? Our imaginations are so vague its
terrifying. The ability to pluck random segments of life (no matter
what they might be) and fuse them together to in turn create
outstanding results e.g. drawings, pieces of writing, buildings etc.
makes me appreciate us as beings.

Creativity In Our Young

As kids our imaginations ran wild, the importance of this cant be
stressed enough! We were all kids at one point and I believe as
individuals we are all evidently creative: what we do with that
creativity is up to us in early years they teach children to let loose,
to draw in an expressive manner and to be confident in who they
are.
The problem however is when we they reach middle school: the
national curriculum fail to home in on the individuals talents and try
to teach them based on their own skills and talents, instead they do
the bare minimum and teach them core subjects such as e.g.
Maths, English and science.
Studies show that children taught and directed through their
individual learning styles are more likely to reach their full potential
in life as opposed to those taught based on the curriculum. As
creative individuals we need to think more on the next generation
and what they will create. Will they be as mind blowing as this
generation or will they surpass us completely. Who knows?
Picasso was simply a golden child, admitted to the school of applied
and fine arts in La Coruna aged 13. We are free spirited at young
ages and that in effect gives us substantial power over those around
us.

Creativity In Art
Artists are some of the most creative people out thereso they say?
The truth is a large number of artists suffer from illnesses, which
overcomes them and as a result their art begins to reflect.
William Blake is an example of a well-rounded talented man who
was troubled with hallucinations. He was commissioned by Elizabeth
Iliffe and painted The Last Judgment (1808) which is a beautiful
piece. It is exquisitely painted and some may even call it perfect but
I want to explore the content. He has drawn heaven and hell and
what looks like a very vivid interpretation of what judgment day will
look like.
To the common viewer it is very pleasing visually but conceptually it
is extremely disturbing, I interpret the painting as Blake having lost
his creativity and in essence losing his freedom, he is being forced
to draw events based on the pictures in his head. Art isnt always
simple but Ive discovered to be expressive is important and to be
free mentally is something we should cherish.

The Human Body

The human body will forever fascinate me. The sheer brilliance of
how our brains function right down to the positioning of our belly
buttons. Our bodies are created for many purposes but what we
create from such creations is what I want to explore. We are the
smartest, most developed and (if I say so myself) the best looking
living organisms, but yet I'm still amazed at what we create.
Remember, creation is the action or process of bringing something
into existence, for instance: I believe God created all living things,
and he gave us the ability to create new things. Isnt that beautiful.
God gave each and every one of us a unique brain, he also gave us
some simple tools, like common sense and
Practicality. So what did we do with this? We drew, we built and we
wrote, we fought, we conquered and we created. Creation is often
the subject of controversy, or shall I say some people simply dont
want to believe everything theyre told despite substantial evidence.
A very crucial gift God gave to us was to ability to reproduce, a
simply amazing thing, when you and your wife are alone with the
lights off and nothing to do youLets leave that to your creative
imagination shall we, but we can create new life, another amazing
gift from God.
Soon enough another creative mind decided that this beautiful gift
could be prevented for various reasons. So abortion clinics opened
and bills were passed and 40 years later 7 Million creative minds
were prevented the chance to create of their own. The incredible
potential that is then lost is simply quite astounding. Those are
future doctors, engineers, politicians and architects.

Creativity in Architecture
In the book building up and Tearing down by Paul Goldberger Paul
discusses in detail his opinion on various buildings by renowned
artists. He talks about Frank Gehry and his most important building
- The Walt Disney Concert Hall.
This concert hall is world renown not only for the inspirational
architect responsible for this masterpiece, Frank Gehry, but also for
the criticism it received. People have said It looks like Gehrys other
buildings and its too showy criticism is good but only when
brought forth in a constructive manner. Everyone is entitled to his or
her own individual opinion but where credit is due it should be
given. The way in which Gehry brought together multiple aspects of
Walt Disneys life to create such a building is amazing, from the
incredibly designed floral seats in memory of Mrs. Disney to the
breathtaking fountain in the outdoor plaza.
From research Ive found that people believe architects to be quite
stuck up and stubborn, they dont want to listen but think
everything should be done their wayI disagree with this
profoundly!
I asked an architecture student, a recently graduated architect
(Masters) and a practicing architect working in this day and age
what creation is to them. The responses were interesting

The very essence of being human, we are designed to create and

we can either create beauty or chaos, we have the choice, where,
what, how and why our environment is the way it is employed
architect
As you can see the responses were similar but differ in many ways,
they all said something about designing or creating in a manner or
two but they also all spoke about the unknown.
This is why architects dont deserve the amount of criticism they
receive, they single handedly take the minimal information provided
and use it to build, make and produce some wondrous things; from
houses, to skyscrapers, to airports, to gardens and even kids toys.
Rem Koolhass is one that Im particularly fond of. His Seattle Public
Library is simply up lifting, he took an ordinary traditional city and
built a modern library. As an architect he took a risk, which
effectively paid off with other 2 million people visiting in the first
year. Koolhass utilized the intuition, individuality and creative mind
he was blessed with to produce something spectacular.
Conclusion
In conclusion I believe we are all creators, we were all built with this
outstanding brain that has the ability to pluck random miniature
fragments of life and fuse it with our own individual imaginations. As
a result we produce some of the most earth-shaking, indescribable,
breathtaking Things. Below are a few things that I as an aspiring
Architect have produced.
There is no creation in architecture or architecture in creation. The
creation is in us. I have discovered that it is in us as humans that all
of this is made possible. The libraries, the schools, the airports, the
theatres, they are all made possible through our unique
imaginations and creativities. God was an architect, we are
architects and as architects we are obliged to be creative and
through our creativity we will find our inner freedom. Be free.
