Learning to Go Hybrid 1

This assignment is about Teach and Educational Technology Tool. The tool I am going to talk
about is Learning to Go Hybrid. Which it talks about Hybrid learning is broadly defined as a
course that blends online and face-to-face delivery so that face-to-face time is reduced, with 30%
to 70% delivered online. So, for instance, a course that traditionally meets twice a week face-toface would instead meet once a week face-to-face, with the rest of the course online or out of
class. It is a way for students to work on studying and being able to use a lot of things to get the
job done. Mixing studying in the classroom and using electrical devices out of the classroom. I
will show how it is used and how helpful it can be and if it is going to be a failure in the
classroom or not. I think this is a great thing and it should be easy to explain to everyone.

Learning to Go Hybrid 2

This a ten week long course of how to use computers and hands on teaching. It is done away that
the instructors teach three to four face to face sessions. The sessions have topics like these
Benefits and challenges of hybrid learning, creating effective online discussions, creating online
assignments, Using the Community of Inquiry model to determine what works best online and
face-to-face, Assessment strategies and Technology tools and resources. It has working activities
filling out work sheets and work on computer. Then this is broke down to four week courses and
how it is done. This has a lot of different categories that the system works off of. The categories
are as follows weekly modules and how long they are do it online. The second one is what class
activities will be face to face and how much time does each activity take? The third category is
What class activities will be online and how time does it take on the activities? The last one is
broken done into three levels. The first one is How do these activities reach learning goals?
The next one says How do face to face and online activities support each other? The last one is
two questions they say How do the activities represent cognitive, social presence and teaching?
Then the second question is How do they balance these things in the course?
So the schedule is done using the categories two, three and four. They do this for four weeks and
they record the data. Then the teachers do an assessment and use these following tools to get the
job done. They use these tools are Online Educational Repositories, Creative Commons,
Podcasting Software, Narrated PowerPoint presentations, and Blackboard discussion boards.
They then have pre- and post-surveys that indicates improvement. On the survey the teachers
survey has nine categories on it. They are Developing/delivering a hybrid course, Assessing
student learning in online work, Supporting student social presence online, Clearly expressing
the course expectations for student learning objectives in a hybrid course, Clearly expressing the
course expectations for student behavior in a hybrid course, Identifying what learning activities

work best online, Identifying what learning activities work best in person, Creating effective
online activities and Creating effective in person activities. Then they are broken down to PreInstitute Mean and then Post-Institute Mean. Then the students evaluation has five categories
called Amount of interactions with other students, Amount of interaction with instructor, Quality
of interaction with other students, Quality of interaction with instructor and Would you take
another hybrid course? Then it is broken down into two sections called increase or no difference
and decrease. They then get the students feedback and here is some examples of the feedbacks.
Reasonable workload; ratio of class meetings to online sessions works
Online [hybrid] option allowed me to take this class
I was very anxious about a hybrid class at first. I am a person who needs constant feedback and
in this class I am able to get constant feedback.
Face to face meetings on keep me well connected
The class works great for me because I live [on an island] and decreasing my travel to and from
the mainland allows me more time to concentrate on homework and family.
I thought it would be challenging and hard not to be in class every week but everything is
explained very well and is well organized.
I was a little apprehensive at first about taking a hybrid course (my first one) but everything has
been very straight-forward and beyond organized. The BB site is updated in a timely manner
and instructions are more than easy to follow.
I really like the hybrid option, which there isnt too much of with UWB.
I think we should offer more hybrid [for working students], and
Able to do it at my convenience and pace.

Learning to Go Hybrid 4

So I think this is very interesting subject and I wanted to learn more about it. I think this was
well worth reading about and think that it would work in some classes but not in all classes.
