Review and demonstrate
shooting cues (BEEF) and
dribbling technique
Shoot For the Stars
Start with six groups of
three or four depending on
class size. Cones will be set
up where each team will
stand by. Poly spots will be
set up around the basket.
The object of the game is to
dribble to a poly pot and try
and make it, if the basket is
missed student will rebound
the ball and dribble it back
to the next person in line. If
made, take the poly spot
back to the line, most poly
spots is the winning team.
Only one player on the team
is allowed to dribble and
shoot at a time.

Day6

during the week to participate in
the activity.

and Shooting for the lead up
game
Pass and Shoot
Divide class into two
groups, give each student a
number for them to go to the
numbered poly spot. When
beginning call out a number
two students run to their
hoop and basketball and
dribble to the free throw
line. All other numbers run
to the key by the free throw
line, student with the ball
passes to first person on the
key and they pass to person
across from them then sit
down. Last person to receive
the ball passes back to the
number called and they
make a basket. First team
done earns a point. Make
sure to call each number so
everyone gets a turn.

Adaptation of content or activities for special populations (equipment and rules): Cue cards with printed pictures, list of daily
activities, large rimmed basket, lowered basketball, allowing student to double dribble or travel with basketball, using a peer parter.
