COLLEGE BOUND
Researching colleges that are right for you
GOALS:
To identify and research 3 colleges that are matches for you based on
your academic achievement and your job interests.
To identify GPA, ACT/SAT, and other admissions requirements for your
selected colleges.
INSTRUCTIONS: Follow the steps outlined in this document. Edit the document
where the text is highlighted.
IMPORTANT: On Friday you will learn more about options for paying for college.
Of course, cost is an important consideration in choosing a college, but today I
encourage you to keep your options open and look into colleges you might not
have thought about before, regardless of cost.

STEP 1: DECIDE WHAT YOURE LOOKING FOR


Researching colleges is a process, and you wont learn everything you need to
know during todays class. If you have a major or career in mind, I recommend
researching programs in your field of interest. If you dont have a major or
career in mind yet, start with the links below.

STEP 2: LOOK FOR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ONLINE

STEP 3: WRITE ABOUT WHAT YOU FOUND OUT

COLLEGE #1
Ohio State University
Columbus, Ohio
There is no specific grade point average requirement.
You need to take the tests, but no scores are required.
1. This college has many majors to choose from.
2. Ohio State University is located in my home state.
3. It has one of the best college football teams.

Baldwin Wallace
Berea, Ohio
There is no required grade point average requirement.
They dont require your test scores for the ACT/SAT.
1. This college is close to home.
2. Its a great school with good reviews.
3. They offer a lot of minors and majors to choose from.

COLLEGE #3
University of Cambridge
Cambridge, United Kingdom
They require you to at least have a grade point average of 3.3.

They dont require you to take the ACT, but a score of 700 is what they accept
for the SAT.
1. This college is in a place I would love to go to.
2. It is one of the most elite colleges you could possibly go to.
3. They have great majors in English, one of my best subjects.

STEP 4 (DEPENDING ON TIME): SAVE YOUR WORK IN YOUR


EDMODO BACKPACK:
If you do not finish your college research assignment during class today, save
your work by adding the document to your backpack on Edmodo:
1 Click on the Backpack icon

in the top toolbar.

2 Click the Add to Backpack button either in the center or top right of
your communication stream.
3 Click "upload" to browse for a file on your computer or click "link" to
paste in a link.
4 Click the Add button to finalize the addition to your Backpack.

STEP 5: SUBMIT THIS DOCUMENT TO ME ON EDMODO


1. After you have completed your college research assignment, save, save,
save!
2. Log in to Edmodo.
3. Select your class Group from the left side panel and you will see
the Assignment in the Group communication stream, or you can view
the Assignment from the Latest Posts area of your Homepage.
4. Click the Turn in button located next to the due date to submit the
Assignment.
5. Attach the work and provide a comment/message if necessary.
6. Click on the Turn in Assignment button.
