Final Project Outline:

• Purpose
o Promote use of technology through “Decades Project” where student
output will be a multi-media project.
o Model various forms of media in-class with lesson delivery.

• Components
o Content Standards
 Each lesson will be CA Standards based. Each lesson will feature
one or two uses of technology.
 Each lesson will promote ISTE standards
o Content Instruction
 Each lesson presented will be a daily lesson plan.
 Each lesson will feature a use of technology
 Each lesson will build in time for explanation on why particular
technologies are useful for learning/education.
 Each lesson will cover a different “Decade” to model both
technology and expectations of project.
 Students will be given clear rubric and will be graded on multi-
media presentations
o Lesson Structure
 Daily lessons will help support/scaffold project
 Students will be assigned groups for the project (3 per group)
 Students will be given class time to coordinate projects when
possible
 Allow at least 3 days for computer lab time
 Project is a culmination of 2nd Semester work
 Each group will present a “Decade” of the 20th Century
o Rubric/Assessment of Student Performance
 Rubric will be provided for historical content
 Commentary will be provided on technology skills (I’m not certain
if any requirement can be made on use of technology)
o Technology
 Technology will be used to make lessons more engaging
 Delivering presentations through various technologies will make
the project more engaging, fun and will offer a lot of choices for
the students
 Students will understand new ways to communicate through
technology and be able to connect that they are writing their own
version of U.S. History with the “Decades Project”.
