Teenage Drug Abuse.
Drug Abuse is damaging America. Drug Abuse is taking a major & dangerous role on the
United States. Addiction is a chronic, relapsing disease, characterized by compulsive drug
seeking and use, and by neurochemical and molecular changes in the brain. Drugs leads to much
more dangerous path. All drugs are harmful in a certain way regardless of what the media say.
Many drug users suffer from serious medical conditions such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and
especially in injection drug users, virulent infections caused by dirty needles. According to a
University of Michigan study, after marijuana, prescription and over-the-counter medications are
the most commonly abused drugs by high school students. Marijuana is the easy drug to find so
Marijuana commonly found as the gateway drug for most people. Almost all who have used
both Marijuana and hard drugs used marijuana first. (Roleff) Pg.91. Drug Abuse is taking a
major & dangerous role on the United States.
Marijuana is not harmless like it seems. It tends to effect the brain in many ways.
Marijuana can also lead to more deadly drugs. Marijuana can lead to memory lost which may
seem like a slight effect but it is more than what it seems. The more often you use Marijuana, the
more likely you will use cocaine and heroin. So basically Marijuana the start of all. Marijuana
Use May Not Lead to the Use of Other Drugs depends on the person. Several factors contribute
to low rates of employment in alcohol/drug dependent individuals including low motivation to

work, insufficient skills to obtain a job, a lack of vocational skills necessary to qualify for
available work, as well as functional impairment directly related to alcohol/drug use. At the
current rate, addiction will only become an issue of greater magnitude. Between 250 and 350
tons of cocaine was trafficked through Guatemala in 2008, which was three times greater than
the amount trafficked through both Mexico and the Caribbean combined15. This is a stark
contrast to 10 years prior, when the entire Central America combined trafficked less cocaine
than both Mexico and the Caribbean. What is worse, the drug trade has only risen in the region
since then. Due to this drastic jump, Guatemala now faces an increase in corruption within its
prisons and its government, which have both been infiltrated by the drug trade
mafia.Socioeconomic ills as such are also faced by the rest of Central American countries. The
plague of institutional corruption feeds on the very illegality of the drug trade. As drug dealers
are threatened because their business is illegal, they vie to avoid the obstacles of the trade. A
powerful narcotic pain reliever created to treat chronic pain, oxycodone is one prescription drug
that has been much abused throughout North America around the beginning of the 21st century.
Oxycodone is known as Hillbilly Heroin for its popularity in rural areas. In the state of New
Mexico, overdose deaths by prescription drugs outnumber deaths by illegal drugs. Prescription
drugs are very abuse just as hard drugs. Prescription drugs should not be use unless prescribed by
doctor.
Drug abuse is becoming a big deal in the United States. It is getting so terrible that
teenagers are investing a lot of their time into abusing drugs. Drug abuse starting earlier than
teenage years. Statistics have been most people try their first drug in the 8th grade around age 13
or 14. Which around the time the body is really developing into an adult, with the drug use it is

possible for it to effect your body growth. Drugs of any kind decreases teens ability to pay
attention. The younger a person is when they begin using drugs the more likely they are to
develop a substance-abuse problem and the more likely they are to relapse into drug abuse when
trying to quit. There is nothing positive that comes out of drug abuse.
Decreasing use of inhalants and synthetic drugs, including K2/Spice and bath salts, and a general
decline over the last two decades in the use of illicit drugs. However, the survey highlighted
growing concerns over the high rate of e-cigarette use and softening of attitudes around some
types of drug use, particularly decreases in perceived harm and disapproval of marijuana use.
Drug Abuse is very Expensive. Many people spend their own and last on Drugs. Drugs
are a $400 billion industry. Thats more than most businesses! Abusing Drugs takes all of your
money. Drugs are fast money, quick money it can become very addictive selling drugs than it is
consuming them. Drugs themselves is just very dangerous no matter what the situation is. STAY
AWAY FROM DRUGS MY FRIENDS!
