living environment with many security

options to keep its residents safe.
0 While living in the dorms you are issued
a set of keys that allow you to unlock
the outer doors as while as the elevator
and the stairwells. Beyond this there is
also the lock on every room that can

and is available for easy access to first year
students as they are located in the basements of
Bayliss and Tanner.
0 They offer support to students needing writing
help in these dorms on Sunday-Thursday 6:00-9:00
0 The website brings ethos into play by making sure
you know that the writing center is staffed by
competent English professionals.

Amenities
0 While living in the dorm you have access to

many amenities that would cost extra money

living off campus
0 Some of these amenities include cable with
over 100 channels, safe and secure Wi-Fi, airconditioning, and heating units in each room.
0 All of these are provided in all of the resident
halls and are included in the cost of living.

0 The dining halls on campus offer many options for you to

sate your hunger.

0 All on campus students buy into the basic meal plan that
works for all dinning facilities on campus

center, linc/wash/grote conveniance store, bayliss
henninger dining center, tanner convenience store,
Thompson dining center, dividends, and the university

0 Beyond this the website tells you that you pay for what
you eatyou dont subsidize someone else's meal by
having an ala carte meal system not a meal per day
system

Laundry
0 Every hall offers you with easy access to a

laundry facility.
0 These facilities are in the basement of all the
residency halls and contain many washers
and dryers so that their will usually be one
open.
0 The machines cost 1.25 to wash and 1.00 to
dry which is a decent price compared to
getting your laundry cleaned elsewhere.

Bus System
0 All routes are fare-free. Making go west the only unlimited

access bus system in the state of Illinois.

0 The purple and gold route go from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
and go all around the campus stopping in front of the
dorms.

residents to use.
0 Those dorms that have communal bathrooms also
have an employee assigned to keep them clean.
0 These employees clean the bathrooms once a day
(except on the weekends) for about an hour.
0 The cleaning responsibility being placed on a non
floor member can cut down on arguments over
cleaning responsibility and can cut down on
cleaning supplies expenses.

24 hour assistance
0 The RA (resident assistant) this person is here to

answer any question or address any problem you face.

The ra is on your floor at most times to help you with

maintenance, file a complaint or a suggestion, and
ask for help.

the staff members in your building so that you know
exactly who is taking care of you and your building.

community centers in the dorms where
people can get together and hang out.

Roommate matching
system
0 This feature of western allows for you to get

matched with a roommate who is the most

compatible with you.
0 This is a very important system as your
roommate will most likely be the first person
you meet on campus and the one you spend
the most time around, so its important that
you are compatible with them.

Affordable
0 Furniture, a meal plan, electric, gas and

water, cable, all of which would cost extra

living off campus
0 The features provided to you are all provided
at a very reasonable price

will be fixed for a four year period and remain
in effect as long as you maintain continuous
enrollment.
