To Whom It May Concern:

I enthusiastically recommend Ms. Stephanie Bohn to your employment. I have had
the privilege of having her as my student in my SOC101 Introduction to Sociology course.
In the course she excelled in every way. She made valuable contributions to class
discussions, diligently completed assignments on-time, arrived having thoroughly completed
the assigned readings before class and represented them well. She completed complex
multipart writing assignments with tremendous skill and insight and mastered the challenging
in-class exams as well. She impressed me so thoroughly that I both recommended her as a
tutor for the course in the next semester and asked her to partner with me in a two year
community based research project. She similarly excelled in her role as tutor for my students
(even when other tutors sometimes stumbled) and has shown more work-ethic and selfdiscipline in the research project than the other two exceptional students I invited onto the
project. Indeed, her time on the project has shown her to be diligent, organized, an
exceptional writer, and to possess strong analytic skills. She is self-motivated, curious,
humble, and eager to learn.
Ms. Bohn similarly completed my senior seminar in sociology (SOC490) course. She
outpaced the other students in the course by such a magnitude that she was truly of a
different class. She once again showed her attention to detail, her analytic mind, ability to
work independently, and her ability to retain learning for the long term. While other students
often claimed no memory at all of the material covered in the prerequisites for the course,
Ms. Bohn seemed to require no review at all.
Ms. Bohns talents are not limited to mere intellectual potential. She is hard working,
attentive to detail, and future oriented. She is self-reflective without being self-absorbed, and
she is successful without being threatening to those around her. She appears sensitive to her
classmates emotions and is well liked/respected by her peers. Ms. Bohn is committed not
merely to self-promotion, but to the betterment of the social world. If she has any weakness
in the classroom at all it is a failure to recognize her own talents. While her humility is
generally an asset, it may, at times, make others slow to recognize her talents.
I fully anticipate, hearing that she has risen to positions of significant leadership and
has achieved substantial accomplishment in the future. Of all the students I have ever had in
class, she is one of the first I would want to teach my own children or to be employed within
my own school district. Should you have any additional questions about her credentials or
talents please contact me with the information given in the letterhead at the top of this page.
