Stated above is the rights that are typed in the 32nd article in the Russian Constitution.
These rights focus on the tasks that deal with elections and voting. My name is Nicolette
Briglio and I am an observer. I have been observing many parts, almost all parts of the
presidential election. President Vladimir Putin had won when the six year term for Dmitry
Medvedev stepped down and he announced that Putin would stand. I observed, as well as
researched and questioned some citizens in Russia about their thoughts. Some of the
questions I asked were Who are you leaning towards when it comes to the election, and
why? and also the positives and negatives of Putin, if he won. I had gotten different
answers from many people and some were only opinions and some were very strong about
their answers. I had collected more answers of why they dont want Putin to be elected
because then Russia would become affected tremendously. My observations were still a
little dreary and unclear, but I still had a few days before the elections were to happen and
that is when the real reports would come into play. As the elections came closer and closer
and finally down to the day, I had come across something unusual. Right at the end of the
elections, as Dmitry Medvedev was announcing and also congratulating the honorable
winner, Dmitry has said out of his own mouth "This victory will serve as a guarantee that the
course we have chosen, the successful course we have been following over the past eight
years, will be continued." This sentence shocked me. It gave me a new belief that Russia
may be up to something. Medvedev basically through himself under the bus and told the
people that they have chosen the winner, not the people and if we are living in a democracy

isnt it supposed to be all for one and one for all. Some citizens have caught this and are
very much taken back and angered that the elections were unfair. I am reporting that the
elections were misconstrued and the government in Russia kind of messed up in a way that
could possibly cause more trouble and outrage in the future. In my eyes, I dont know what
to believe any more.
