Die Tonight

Someone is going to die tonight. I can feel it. And it is going to be my fault.
But I don't care. All is well with me and my world.

I walk down the street. It is dark. 1 A.M. so it should be. The street lamps
glitter, the pavement shines with the sheen of early morning dew. Bliss. No
sound. Wait, no. There is a car in the distance, speeding down the motorway.
But I can't see that. I don't care.

Continue down. Some people never learn. I glance at the moon. Laugh to
myself. Full. a perfect disc in the sky. Not a cloud in sight. Ironic. It is often
said that the moon has the power to being about a sinister change in even
the purest of men. But my change has nothing to do with the moon.
I have had it with other humans. No more will I stand there and be a victim.
They do not understand me and my ways. They call me names, mock me for
what I do. I do not care any more. They will get theirs.

I see a familiar face. It is her. A pretty face peaking out at me in the

darkness. She sees me, and the smile turns to a sneer. I do not care. She will
not

live

long

enough

to

sneer

again.

I walk closer. She is alone on the street corner. A shame really. We could have
been good together. But it wasn't to be. I do not care. I walk closer. She
begins to laugh. Sees the look on my face. She stops the laughter. My breath
crystallizes before my eyes. I look down. At one with myself. Then I look up,
smile. She doesn't like that. I put my hands up to her. She begin to scream,

but the sound doesn't have time to reach her lips. I have her. Against the
wall. Lifting her up. Choking. The sound of her coughing fills the night.
I smile. I am stronger than her. I wait for the struggling to stop and then let
go. Her limp body falls to the floor. I smile. I do not care.

Tonight I have made a difference. Tomorrow will be back to normal. But when
I am caught. When they find out it was me, they will change their views. No
more will their laughter piece my soul, their jibes torture my existence. They
will know me for what I am. Ah. Bliss. No more laughter. I told you someone
would die tonight. I do not care.
