April 9, 2013, its the day when me and my friends went to Canada to attend a program

organized by the school, named 'overseas program'. Mixed feelings at the time. Happy, sad,
scared, and something like that. Happy that I will go abroad with friends, sad to leave the people
I love in Indonesia, although only for 6 weeks, and fear for not being able to adapt in the country
during that time. But all the sadness and fear changed instantly when I arrived in Canada. I met
people who are very friendly there. There I lived with foster parents or can be called with
'hostparent', in a town called Kamloops. She was very nice, friendly, and attentive to me. Her
daughter was good to me. While there, me and my friends were not on vacation, but to learn,
including to learn about the Canadian Cultures. There we learnt in one of the university, the
Thompson Rivers University. In addition to studying at TRU, we also followed the high school
immersion program that lasts for a week. My Group and the other group followed the program at
one of the school that was located at the end of Kamloops, which was Westsyde Secondary
School. At this high school immersion we each had one Canadian partner as a friend to help us
study at their school. Except me, I had two partners. My partners name was Mariah Cummings
and the other was Lee Kennedy. Both were good, but Mariah is more subdued than Kennedy.
While there, the activities that we did is to come with our partners to get into classes they learn.
There I got a lot of friends, but I couldnt remember all their names. Because I am a forgetful
person-_-The teachers at this school were very good and very patient. Although sometimes there
were students who were being disrespectful to them. On the first day at school we were greeted
with a barbeque. And on the last day, we were treated to pizza, aka pizza party. During the week I
followed the program at this school, I got a lot of experience. I could figure out how they learn,
how they got along with each other, the way they recruited new people, and so on. After a week
passed, we also re-learning at TRU until graduation. Three days after graduation we all had to
leave Kamloops to go to Vancouver. We were in Vancouver for a week. On 21 May we too had to
leave Vancouver and went back to our homeland.
