Dedicated Hearts
Dedicated hearts like yours
Are not so easy to find.
It takes a special person to be
So generous and kind.
To care so much for your fellow man
Is a quality all too rare.
Yet you give of your time and talents,
For all in need to share.
So thank you for being a volunteer,
Were privileged to work with you.
We want you to know how appreciated you are,
Not just today, but the whole year through.
Pat, Deb, Chris, Ursula, Fran and I are truly privileged
to have the opportunity to work with the most dedicated,
kind, caring, and compassionate volunteers. We simply
could not do what we do without YOU!
THANK YOU!!!
The Center at Spring Street got a fresh new look! In
the beginning of March new carpet was installed in The
Center and it looks great! We are asking for your assistance
with keeping the carpet looking great by letting us know of
any spills so that we can properly clean the carpet and keep
it looking great for years to come. Thank you for helping us
to keep our new carpet looking new!
Our Easter Celebration will be held at The Center on
Thursday, April 2nd, and will include special favors, a
delicious meal, and wonderful entertainment provided by our
very own Spring Street Songsters! Oh and did I mention a
special kind of Easter Celebration hunt?
Come to The
Center and get in on the fun!
Are you the 1 in 3 at risk? Why are your kidneys so
important? Please join us on Tuesday, April 21st, at 10 a.m.
when Rachel NDiaye from the National Kidney Foundation
will help you determine if you are at risk and what you can
do to protect your kidneys. This is one educational program
you cannot afford to miss!

Preserving Your Memories
Leslie Misko and Cindy Mauger will lead
this writing class at The Center on Tuesday,
May 5th & 19th and June 2nd & 16th at 10 a.m.
The class will offer a guided opportunity to
begin writing your memoirs. Topics will be
suggested and participants will be invited to
record their memories, not only describing
them in detail, but also interpreting the
importance of those memories in the fabric of
their lives. During class meetings, the class
will brainstorm ideas, provide actual writing
time, and a time to share. Participants must be
able to write on paper or on a laptop computer
that they bring to class. Class space is limited
and each class will be 1 hours long.

Healthy Steps Workshop Rescheduled for
June
Ann Barlet from the Berks County Area
Agency on Aging will be here to offer a Healthy
Steps for Older Adults Workshop on Monday,
June 15th and 22nd from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. If
you have recently fallen, are worried about

Clip to Save
Learn the art of couponing on
Tuesday, April 7th at 10 a.m. from our own
Coupon Diva Barbara Bernier, Energy Case
Manager at Boyertown Area Multi-Service, Inc.
Looking for low cost items for your children,
grandchildren, a favorite college student or just
a special treat for yourself at little or no cost?
This is the workshop for you! Barb will show
you the art of getting the most from those
newspaper coupons to get items for free or
almost free. If you are computer savvy, she
can show you where to find the best deals on
the internet. Look for baskets placed around
The Center in the days leading up to April 7th.
Barb has gotten all of the items with her firstclass couponing skills. Group participants will
have a chance to win one of the baskets at the
presentation! Whether you are a couponer or
not, please save your coupons from the
newspapers and put them in the container next
to Pats office. Our group will make good use
of them as we hone our skills to gain low or no
cost items for ourselves or to donate to
worthwhile charities of our choosing.

Shake a Volunteers Hand

Anonymous

Volunteers are a very special breed.

Theyre not afraid to step in when they see the need.
Theyre always willing to lend a hand,
To lift someone up whos sinking in quicksand.
They always have something encouraging to say,
And they manage to say it in the kindest way.

They share their skills, talents and time.

And in return, they dont ask for a dime.
So the next time you meet with some volunteers,
Shake their hands, and let them know
youre happy theyre here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR APRIL CELEBRANTS!!
