department this year as students and staff have had an unforgettable experience in the Communication Studies Department! For starters, our students had firsthand experience in the world of PREM by working with Legendary Weddings and Special Events, including their contribution to the management of the annual House of DIFFA, a charity fashion show in Dallas, helping to better prepare them for the communication industry as graduates.
It was also our privilege to have our very own TSMRI featured in the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History newsletter for its major contributions to social media research. Texan News also had a special year as student journalists were recognized for their coverage on the Eddie Ray Routh trial in Stephenville, having a local voice in national coverage.
In other news, Tarleton is excited to begin a new graduate program for Communication Studies in Fort Worth and online (for more information, contact Paul Stafford stafford@tarleton.edu). We also announced that we will be opening another program in Fort Worth for undergraduates, providing part time faculty in Fort Worth and commuting faculty from Stephenville.
Lastly, I look forward to alumni coming back soon to see our new facilities, featuring our news room, a state of the art convergence lab, a brand new public relations lab, a newly refurbished writing center, and an entire wing dedicated to our department. Thank you for your continued support and representation of our program. Until next time, Dr. Charles Howard
