According to the 2010 Census Bureau, Loudoun County, VA is the richest county
in the U.S. Founded in 1757; Loudoun County, VA was named after John Campbell 4th
Earl of Loudoun. Considered to be one of the fastest growing counties in America,
Loudoun County is projected to reach 417,987 by the year 2020. The increase
expectation in population is largely due to the improved economy and the projected
commencement of Metrorail which is expected to launch operation from 20118-2019
(Zoning 2014).Loudoun County, VA is also considered to be one of the most educated
and highly skilled populations in the U.S.
The percentage of the citizens in Loudoun County, VA over 25 years of age who
are high school graduates or higher is 93.8%. Loudoun County has also implemented a
literacy program designed to ensure that all children learn to read by the completion of
the 1st grade (Government, Loudoun County, VA Official Website n.d.).
