Blindness

Introduction
Visual impairment in children affect their learning.
This is why we must use techniques or measures to
develop their learning strategies. Developing an
interactive class help generate knowledge. We will be
presenting two visual conditions that can be found in
our classroom. Just as some strategies for working
with this student population.

Specific Learning Disabilities


Neurological chronic conditions.
Interfere with their abilities.
Condition varied in its manifestations and
severity.
It affects self-esteem, education and daily
life.
Located in regular classrooms.

Teacher must consider:


Individualized
Clear instructions
Provide additional time
Provide motivation
Use reinforcement

Problems loss of vision or blind


Visual impairment
It affects the child's performance.
Includes partial, legal or away seer
blind.

Braille System
Point system for blind people created by a blind
person Louis Braille.
It consists of a set of points one through six, each
combination of points means a letter.

Teaching Techniques
Adapt reading assignments to Braille
system, created by Louis Braille.
Use large print
Use paper with blackened online
Allow use of calculators
Provide direct instruction

Audiobooks
Avoid visual cues: descriptive vocabulary
Multisensory stimulation
Avoid surprises
Provide instruction in the area:
Orientation (established its position as to the
surrounding objects)
Mobility (move confidently in their environment)

Conclusion:
The ideas presenting help us to prepared
interesting classes. Kids blind or visually
impaired have special abilities. They can
learn like the other kids. Teacher only have
to know the right technique to be used. So
children develop other senses to the
fullest.
