A work group from the Naval Academy Garden Club (NAGC) gathered recently
to deal with a mess left by Old Man Winter this year. Wearing old clothes and armed
with wicked-looking garden tools, they dug up weeds left by the long winter and
debris blown in by incessant winds of recent months. Their mission was to spruce
up three flower beds on the perimeter of the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
In conjunction with the City of Annapolis, the NAGC holds a work-party at three
Cedar Park Road gardens twice a year, adding fresh plants to enhance the ambience
of the paved walking-paths.
Individuals with an interest in gardening and with some connection to the
Naval Academy or one of the military services are most welcome to attend and join
the club.
