Honestly, they are just people like you and I; so why do they
have to have a particular title

from everyday speech and promote the acceptance and
inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities

End the R-word means

Retard or retarded are synonyms for dumb or
stupid. That implies that people with intellectual
disabilities are less valued and looked upon as stupid
You need to be aware of the derogatory remarks you are
making and the words you are using
Do NOT use the R-word to describe anyone
The R-word, "retard," is slang for the term mental
retardation.
