Class rules

RESPECT YOUR PEERS. There will be a lot of in class discussion, and for the
discussion to be productive we need to show each other respect.
Be in your seat by the time the bell rings.
Be active in class participation.
Cell phones are not allowed during class times unless otherwise specified. Class time is
defined as bell to bell. If you are found using your phone during class in accordance with
school policy it will be taken and your parents can pick it up from the office after school.

Academic Honesty
All students will be held to the highest standards of academic honesty. The workload in this class
is designed to prepare students for senior year projects and higher education. Any form of
plagiarism is counterproductive to this goal, and will not be tolerated. This includes sloppy
plagiarism. I am available every week for additional help if needed and will be more than happy
to help with citations to avoid any issues of academic dishonesty.

Bathroom Policy:
As high school students you are expected to use the restroom during break times. It is however
understandable that situations arise when you will need to use the restroom. During the
beginning of the year you will all receive 5 bathroom passes. At the end of the semester unused
passes can be turned in for extra credit.
Late Work
Late work will be accepted up to one week from the original due date for a maximum of 50%
total credit. Any late work received after one week from the original due date will not be
accepted.
Absent students
Absent students will be able to receive full credit for assignments missed if the absence is
excused and documented.
The exception to this will be large projects in which the due date has been given weeks in
advance. Large projects will be accepted late on a case by case basis and only allowed in extreme
extenuating circumstances.
What do I do if Im absent?
You will still be responsible for work missed on absent days. To find out what was missed check
the posted weekly calendar in the back of the room and check the filing cabinet marked by the
appropriate day that you missed for any handouts that were given on the absent day. After you
have done this then you may ask me for any further clarification on what you may have missed.
