Where is Sprouts?
The cafeteria of Inlet Isles will serve as the main
location for the summer camp. A portion of the
cafeteria would be reserved for the kids during
breakfast and lunch, and the kitchen equipment
would be utilized during the hours of 10:00am
-11:30am as to not interfere with the normal Inlet
Isles meal-time schedule.

Why choose sprouts?

Sprouts has the potential to help the community and environment

by shaping the eating habits of younger generations.

Just starting kids early to get the wellness concept before they
have chronic diseases. Kids are natural learners and they love
hands on..its a way to use my profession in a fun, constructive
way and it sends a message to their parents too(Sibley).

Inlet Isles: A Hospital Foodservice Case Study, states that the

facility runs approximately 75 percent occupancy but can drop as
low as 50 percent occupancy in the summer. Since Inlet Isles
residency decreases during the summer months, the hospital is at
risk for losing their profit.

A new study published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and

Behavior shows that having cooking classes [...] may promote
healthier eating habits as well as curb the childhood obesity
epidemic(Gallardo).
