exhibit to their instructor that they are able to connect the
information which they have learned to a specific modern
occurrence.

Students will engage in making inferences from the information

which they have studied to various modern occurrences and will
be required to create a Historical mind map analysis via a
concept map application using the information which they
gathered from their text. Students should be able to have a more
thorough perception of the world they live in as a result of this
work.

Students will have to present their findings and data to their

class displaying their concept maps on a projector

Students will show their grasp of these concepts by taking a 20

question multiple choice test which will cover their knowledge
base of facts on the civil war and their grasp of the utilization of
concept maps.

Description of Assessment
Assessment
Plan :

Formative Assessment : Students will turn in five questions after

their readings which will be reviewed in order to show what
theyve grasped

Reflection on Lesson Design

Future Actions
:

Instructor will introduce more information about the history of

the Civil War during classroom lecture in order to provide a solid
background on information that students will have to utilize in
order to make the correct and/or relevant connections in their
presentation
The D2L modules and the information has been heavily
incorporated to complete this lesson plan and has helped
If more time and resources were available this lesson would
include more technological artifacts for the students to utilize

Because the concept map has both large and small elements on
it where the large elements were most important to the smallest
being the least important it conforms to the principle of visual
hierarchy. It does not necessarily use divine proportions. The
artifact uses fits law which makes it easy to pick items. This
artifact does not use all of the web design principles.
