makingsurethatthestudentsareparticipating.
Practice:Therewillbeawhiteboxandtwostudentsatatimewillsticktheirindexfingerin
tothepaint(theycanpickwhatcolortheywouldliketouse).Thentheywilltaketheirfinger
andpressitonthewhiteboxtomakethebugsbody.Wewillthenwaittillthepaintisdry
andtheywillbeabletodrawwithblacksharpiestherestofthebugsbody.

Assessment:Wewillassessthestudentsknowledgeaboutinsectsbysharingtheircreative
insects.Ifthestudentsincludeatleastonefactabouttheirbug,thenwewillknowthatthey
havelearnedtheinformationpresented.
Extension:Oncethestudentshavecompletedtheirartwork,theycangetapieceof
constructionpaperanddrawtheirfavoritebugfromthebookweread.Thiscanbetaken
homefortheparents.
