It is my great honor and pleasure to write a letter in support of Ms.
Kayla Simpson. Ive had the privilege of teaching Kayla and watching her grow and mature over the past 3 years. She has shown herself to be a smart, determined, well organized, confident, and capable young woman. Kayla is a determined and self-reflective practitioner. She learns quickly and makes adjustments easily from constructive feedback. She has a unique talent of very in depth self reflection and assessment that leads her to revamp and revise her practice and instructional choices based on things she feels she could/should have done better after each instructional opportunity. Most of the times she is far more critical than those who witnessed her in practice ever would be. Her personal high expectations will carry her far in this profession. Kayla is a very intelligent young lady who approaches each day with a spirit of purpose and accomplishment that drives the choices she makes. I have seen how dedicated she is to the work she submits in class and how diligently she strives to meet deadlines and present her finished accomplishments in the best possible light. She has been placed in some challenging settings to facilitate instructional benchmarks with some high needs behavior issues to work around and manage. She has achieved this with patience, humility, and humor in a way that very much resembles that of a veteran in this profession. Kayla has grown tremendously in her confidence and abilities in the few short years I have known her. She actively seeks constructive feedback, applies harsh self-reflection techniques to everything she does, and works diligently to include the suggestions and changes she receives in meaningful ways.
