Students will have a brief background lesson before conducting these
activities

State Standards:

IDOE Grade 4 Science Standard: Standard 3: Life Science

Particular Focus on Standard 4.3.2 (Animal in Environments)

Objectives:

Throughout this lesson, students will gather an understanding of animals

in their natural habitat. With conclusion of this lesson, students will obtain
a knowledge of why particular animals live in certain habitats.

Materials:

Worksheets provided by teacher

Coloring Utensils
Pen/Pencil

Safety:

There are no safety precautions involved in this particular lesson.

Opener:

Habitat Cartoon Video

Procedure:

Initially, the Teacher will start the video to engage students attention.
Secondly, the teacher will explain the classroom centers
Center One- Teacher will oversee students worksheet activity.
Students will complete the matching animal habitat worksheet.
Center Two- Teacher will oversee student worksheet activity.
Students will complete the short answer animal worksheet.
Center Three- Teacher will oversee students worksheet activity.
Students will complete the create your own animal worksheet.
Next, the students will be grouped to their classroom abilities. The groups
will then cycle through all three of the classroom centers.
Finally, the class will share their Create your own Animal Worksheets to
the class.

Assessment:

Students will be assessed by the completion and overall comprehension

conveyed through their worksheets.
