Stine

His life
He

was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1943.

When Bob was nine, he found an old
typewriter up in the attic. He used it to
type stories and little joke books.
He graduated from Ohio State University
in 1965.
He married Jane Waldhorn in 1969.
They worked together on several
children's books.
In 1989 he created the Fear Street
series.
Goosebumps began in 1992.

Read.

Read. Read. Just don't read one type of

book. Read different books by various authors so
that you develop different styles.
When I write, I try to think back to what I was
afraid of or what was scary to me, and try to put
those feelings into books.
I really wanted to be a cartoonist, and I was in
4th or 5th grade and I would bring my drawings
in, and I'd look around, and everyone could draw
better than me. Everyone. My drawings were just
awful. So that's why I had to write.
