Brown, Roger, and Tammy Stephenson. "Guiding Principles for Teaching with Technology."
NACTA Journal 58.2 (2014): 174-5. ProQuest. Web. 13 Apr. 2015. This source that was
published in NACTA (National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture)
Journal and it provides ways that technology can be used as a resource. It provides ten
guiding principles to use technology in a classroom in the proper ways and to not let it
take over. This journal explains that technology can be very helpful, it just has to be
implemented in the proper ways. This source can be useful for me because it is giving
ways to not let the technology take over. It is helping teachers implement it in their
classrooms because it is important that is included.
Gebre, Engida, Alenoush Saroyan, and Robert Bracewell. "Students' Engagement In Technology
Rich Classrooms And Its Relationship To Professors' Conceptions Of Effective
Teaching." British Journal Of Educational Technology 45.1 (2014): 83-96. Academic
Search Premier. Web. 13 Apr. 2015. The authors of this educational journal are all
professors that are dealing with the use of technology in their classrooms and other
classrooms all around them. They did a study to see how students engaged in a more
technology rich classroom. The compared it to professors conceptions of effective
teaching. This source is valuable because it shows how technology can be effective in a

classroom and also how teachers and faculty use technology in their teaching.
"Taking the Learning Tablets; Technology in Classrooms." The Economist Jun 07 2014: 68,n/a.
ProQuest. Web. 13 Apr. 2015. This newspaper article published in The Economist shows
how technological devices can be used in a classroom for the better. They dont
necessarily replace the teacher, but they help the teacher by freeing them to be able to
work with students more while they are working with the devices to do work. The
devices are also very engaging and they want to use them to learn. This source is valuable
because it shows a way that technology is helpful to teachers.
Wiske, Martha Stone, and Breit, Lisa. Teaching for Understanding with Technology. Hoboken,
NJ, USA: Jossey-Bass, 2010. ProQuest ebrary. Web. 13 April 2015. This ebook teaches
its readers how to teach for understanding while using technology. Teaching for
understanding is so important for any teacher, and incorporating technology can make it a
little more difficult. Incorporating technology can actually really help students learn and
understand more. This source will be valuable because it takes a different standpoint than
my other sources. It looks at a way of incorporating technology into your lessons and
everyday activities that involves teaching for understanding.
