Dear Professor Muesing and Fellow Classmates,

My name is Tanner Alberts and I am a freshman here at UNC Charlotte. I am majoring in

Psychology but am currently battling thoughts on changing my major to business. I am
19 years old, and I have two brothers whom are 16 and 21. I also have two incredible
parents who I look up to and admire in every way. Of course, there is my dog Max who I
love with my whole heart. I am from Madison, North Carolina that is near the bigger city
of Greensboro. Growing up, I had a variety of different hobbies. Of the few I loved to
paint, explore the outdoors and I loved everything about animals. I played soccer and I
danced but quit because I was never really into sports. My parents never imagined I
would grow up to become a decorated athlete. Once I hit middle school, I decided I
wanted to play volleyball simply because all of my friends played and they loved it. After
my first year I fell in love. I continued to play throughout high school in the school
league as well as with the Carolina Region of Junior Olympic volleyball (JO Volleyball).
Softball and swimming are two other sports that I participated in throughout high school.
I was an honor roll student in high school and I also had several academic achievements.
I am an outgoing person and I am always willing to take on new adventures and put
myself out on the line. At the same time, I can be a complete introvert. I like having time
to myself and having my own space. In a classroom setting I am typically a visual
learner, I need to see examples and have things explained in order to fully get a glimpse
of what I am learning.
Sincerely,
Tanner Alberts
