May the Father of mercies, the God of all consolation, be with you.

SPRINKLING WITH HOLY WATER

The coffin is sprinkled with water from the Baptismal font to remind us of
what Saint Paul wrote, that those who have been baptized in Christ have
joined him his death, but will also join with Christ in his resurrection.

PLACING OF THE PALL

The white funeral pall placed by family on the coffin recalls our white
baptismal garment and the pledge of eternal life
