To Whom It May Concern:
I have an extremely high regard for Karla Garnica, both as a student and as an individual. I had the absolute pleasure of
teaching and getting to know Karlas sister, Cassandra when I first started teaching even before I got to know Karla. It
was actually through a parent conference night for Cassandra that I was formally introduced to Karla. Very soon I
noticed how amazing of a student Karla was, and how much she needed me to be a mentor. After that, I kept an eye on
Karla, because I wanted to make sure that she stayed on the right track to reach the potential that I knew she had inside.
I was able to convince my administration that Karla should be in my leadership class the following year and she didnt
disappoint. Karla thrived in such an intellectually and socially stimulating class setting that allowed her to take her
creativity, collaborative attitude, and passion for helping other and make wonderful things happen for the school. Even
though, I never had Karla in any of my math classes, I know that she has the work ethic and passion for learning needed
to succeed, because she would come to my class to ask questions when she wasnt sure about certain math concepts even
though I was her math teacher. Furthermore, Karla is one of the hardest working and most dedicated students in the
school. She embodies exactly what we are looking for in a student: mature, passionate, motivated, well rounded,
respectful.
Karla has also shown great progress from the beginning of the first year to now. Karla has not always been the
passionate, emerging leader that she is now. Karla went through some very hard times inside school and at home, even
to the point when she had to leave ASGL for a little while and wasnt sure if she would ever return or even get the
chance to graduate. Though now, as she has continued to mature, she has become much more confident in herself and
she has even helped me become a better teacher, because she is one of those rare students who inspire you with her deep
intrinsic motivation. Now that Karla has blossomed into a mature, confident student, she knows that college is very real
to her, and the thought of higher education gives her even greater strength to continue the trend to become, not just the
best student, but also the best person that she could possibly be. I know it sounds clich for me to say this, but I knew
she had something special in her from the very beginning, and it gives me an immeasurable amount of satisfaction to see
how far she has come.
Karla is one of those few students who is class and in school for all of the right reasons. She sees the enormous value of
education, including its long-term benefits. I have an unbelievable amount of respect for her character and maturity.
People want to be around her, because she makes everyone else around her that much better. Karlas improvement in
the past few years also recognize the amount of potential she has moving forward in any post-secondary institution or
beyond. As a result, I recommend Karla Garnica to you enthusiastically, and hope you will consider her application
favorably. I believe she will continue to flourish academically and socially in an intellectually stimulating collegecommunity, and any college campus will benefit from her presence.
Sincerely,

Collin Felch
