2. Introduce students to different sources of information on the issue
3. Students should be able to make an informed decision on the subject with their own reasoning and
with material discussed in class

PROCEDURE
Introduction
Attention Grabber / Breakfast Club vid/
Agenda
Lecture material introduction into topic and research
materials
Break into groups and hand out scenario sheets
Get them to finish scenario sheets as a group, present
scenario and solution to the class once they finished
Have some questions ready to prompt group discussion after
everyone has presented.
Concluding thesis (proper class management, teacher
discretion, teacher styles)

Learning Activity 1. We will begin class by discussing our topic and research
through a small lecture guided by the power point
2. After we introduce and discuss our findings, students will be
handed our scenario sheets and asked to fill them out as a
group.
3. Students will then present their scenario decisions to the
class to explain some of their reasoning, partially based on

Today We Learned:
Some different opinions and ideas surrounding the detention/
suspension debate.
That ultimately, disciplinary tactics are left to the discretion of
individual teachers and school administrations.

We will be learning about Homework.
