Connection to Problem of Practice: Curriculum

Through collaborations with stakeholders and neighborhood
schools we are increasing academic achievement for all students
and improving and aligning the delivery of instruction. With the
our vision in mind, we believe in academic achievement for all
students.
Through in house PDs we are improving teaching and learning (as
well as saving money) for all students and increasing building
capacity. With weekly data team meetings, collaborations,
neighborhood school visits and walk-throughs we are continuously
improving teaching and learning and reflecting on our teaching.
Through weekly analyzes of individual student data we will adjust
instruction based on students needs, meeting each student at their
level.
Aligning the delivery and implementation of the curriculum in turns
improves the culture and climate of the school. When curriculum is
aligned students understand what is suspected of them and are
more likely to succeed and feel positive about school. Teachers are
more likely to feel comfortable teaching and collaborating with their
teams.
Through Literacy night, PTA meetings, flyers, parent and student-led
conferences and an open door policy we are collaborating with
parents and community members to increase awareness of the new
curriculum plan. The school website is parent friendly and lays out
each step of the curriculum changes we are proposing.
Through walk-throughs and in-house PDs we are aligning the
delivery of instruction as well as the schools mission and vision.

students and staff by modeling ethical behavior and integrity.

6: The Education System
Education leaders ensure the success and achievement of all
students and advocate for their students, faculty and staff needs by
influencing social, cultural, economic, legal, and political contexts
affecting education.

Through the alignment of the curriculum we are ensure that all

students assess a rigorous curriculum. Developing a team (of
experts) that are comprised of a special education teacher,
classroom teacher, coaches and other staff members ensures that
we have a variety of teachers working together to promote students
needs by influencing social, cultural, economic, legal and contexts
affecting education.
